Dabbing – It Isn’t That Scary!
Does dabbing seem intimidating or complicated? It doesn’t have to be! The old method of using a glass dab rig and blowtorch isn’t the only way to consume cannabis concentrates. Easy-to-use and cost-effective electronic dabbing devices now offer a much easier way to get started with concentrates.
Dabbing “the old way”
Before portable electronic vaporizers, dabbing devices, and dab pens, you needed a special device called a dab rig to consume concentrates. The dab rig required many parts and several steps. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Electronic dabbing devices streamline the process with a single device that heats up the concentrate, sans blowtorch. Read on to get to know your options.
OK, so how do I get started with electronic dabbing devices?
The first step is to choose an electronic dabbing device that works for your consumption goals. There are several types of devices out there, each with their own pros and cons. Here are some simple devices that can help you get started with concentrates without the need for a complicated set-up:
Dab pens, like the Puffco Plus, are slender and highly portable rechargeable devices which can be used with concentrates.
Dual-use vaporizers, like the PAX 3, are slightly larger and can switch between flower and concentrates, so you can easily consume both products with the same device.
Desktop/portable vaporizers, like the Puffco Peak, can also switch between flower and concentrates, but they are not quite as portable and discrete . The trade-off? They produce a lot of vapor.
Once you’ve selected a device and grabbed your preferred concentrate, consuming is easy. Instead of breaking out the blowtorch and a dab mat, you’ll use a tool to drop a tiny amount of concentrate into the preheated chamber of an electronic dabbing device. Replace the lid and inhale like you would flower from a vaporizer or a vape pen. It’s that simple!
