Ethos Cares August 2024 Events and Initiatives

In August, Ethos Cares made a meaningful impact by supporting various organizations and causes through volunteer work and fundraising. From assisting veterans and individuals with Autism to caring for rescued animals and celebrating Pride, the Ethos team dedicated their time and effort to make a positive difference in the community. Let’s take a closer look at the inspiring initiatives and the organizations they supported.

Valor in Hazleton

Our Hazleton team supported VALOR, a veteran support group. VALOR Clinic Foundation (VCF) provides assistance in accessing benefits and shelter to Veterans with limited or no access to care. They also offer PTSD resources through their Veterans Unstoppable program. The team participated in a “stand down event,” providing a hot meal and cool drinks for veterans, and assisted with clothing, shoes, and supplies.

Collaborative Autism Movement Cornhole Tournament

Ethos Cares members teamed up to play cornhole to support the Collaborative Autism Movement, a Non-Profit Organization set out to help individuals with Autism build dynamic futures.

Indraloka

During our team’s visit to Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, they met and learned about the various rescued animals, spending time with cats, cows, pigs, chickens, and goats, each with their own unique stories and personalities. The group cleaned out a four-stall barn, which involved shoveling and sweeping old bedding to be replaced with fresh straw to ensure the animals had a clean and comfortable environment. It was a fulfilling experience to see firsthand the care and dedication that goes into providing these animals with a safe haven.

Savage Sisters

Ethos Eastern PA stores collected items in July, and volunteers dropped off the donated goods to Philadelphia. Savage Sisters is female-ran and focuses on helping those in recovery and supporting their rehabilitation. The Ethos team helps sort through all the donated items to allow Savage Sisters to distribute them to the community.

Paint the Planet Pink Golf Tournament

August 16th was the perfect day to raise money for Breast Cancer at the Paint the Green Event, with sunny skies, a nice breeze, and lots of pink! Thirty-six teams golfed for the event and came together to help support Paint the Planet Pink. The Ethos team gave it their all, even winning a few accolades like “Most Honest Score.”

Living Stones

Team members from the Pittsburgh area came together to help serve the community in many ways, from helping with parking, to prepping and serving food, and helping sort and pick out clothes from their donation closet.

Lehigh Valley Pride

The Ethos team participated in celebrating Pride in Lehigh Valley, hosted by the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, by connecting with the LGBTQIA community and educating people on the use of medical cannabis. The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center creates a vibrant LGBTQ+ community in the Lehigh Valley through arts, health, youth, training, and Pride programs.
