Ethos currently has interests in the cultivation, processing and dispensing of cannabis in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, and Arizona and is pursuing expansion opportunities in multiple states. We have a clear and compelling consumer-centric vision focused on helping individuals feel and live better through their experiences with cannabis. Our mission is supported by our relationship with Jefferson Health, a leading academic medical center in the U.S., dedicated to collecting and analyzing valuable real-world data and developing educational initiatives with a focus on patient outcomes and quality of life. Jefferson Health is our Academic Clinical Research Center partner for our vertically integrated operations in Pennsylvania.
Our team has significant experience in healthcare, consumer products, and regulated markets. We have been active participants in the cannabis industry since 2015 and have recently added team members with experience developing and leading successful and respected cannabis operators in the U.S.
The Ethos Executive Team
David Clapper, CEO
David has been actively focused on the medical marijuana industry since 2014 when he began his involvement with efforts to formally include academic medical institutions in the Pennsylvania medical marijuana program. David believes strongly in establishing medical marijuana as a mainstream healthcare option, a long-overlooked avenue to improving lives and health outcomes. Today, David is part of the leadership team responsible for the management and oversight of the operations and investments of Ethos across the Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, and Arizona markets. David’s main areas of responsibility with Ethos include finance, corporate strategy and development, and leading the operations of the Pennsylvania market.
David is also co-founding principal of MainLine Investment Partners where he has spent the majority of his time identifying, performing due diligence on, and managing investments in operating businesses and real estate assets since 2011. Previous experience includes serving as CFO of CMS Companies, a private equity and real estate investment firm, and as a senior manager with Ernst & Young LLP’s assurance and advisory practice working with a range of alternative investment firms.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University where he graduated summa cum laude.
Alex Chadwick, Chief of Staff and Vice President, Strategic Development
Alex has been actively focused on the cannabis industry since 2014 when he was involved with efforts to formally include academic medical institutions in the Pennsylvania medical marijuana program. Alex believes just, safe, and responsible cannabis use has a positive impact on lives and society. Today, Alex is part of the leadership team responsible for the management and oversight of the strategy, operations, and investments of Ethos across the Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, and Arizona markets. Alex’s main areas of responsibility with Ethos include strategic projects and initiatives across the organization with CEO Teddy Scott, corporate strategy and development, and retail operations in Pennsylvania.
Alex has also served as Vice President, Private Equity at MainLine Investment Partners since 2014 where he has been focused on sourcing, executing, and managing private equity and venture capital investments. Previous experience includes serving as an associate with Harris Williams & Co., a middle-market investment bank, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and multiple industry verticals, including business services and industrials.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University where he graduated with honors in finance.
Teddy Scott, Ph.D., Special Adivsor
Teddy’s involvement with Ethos Cannabis is infused with a passion for delivering quality cannabis products and care backed by integrity, vision, and a belief in the education of consumers and patients. As founder and former CEO of PharmaCann, Teddy has been a long-time leader in the medical cannabis industry, helping to shape rigorous production and development standards for creating high quality, reliable cannabis products. Today, Teddy leads Ethos as CEO across its operations and investments in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, and Arizona. He is a committed advocate for the just, safe, and responsible use of cannabis.
Teddy has earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from the University of Texas and holds a J.D. degree from the Northwestern University School of Law. He has worked in pharmaceutical research and practiced intellectual property law. Teddy is a founder and director of SmartHealth Catalyzer, which is an accelerator for commercializing therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices. Teddy is also an advisor to the University of Chicago’s Innovation Fund, and is a founder of Accelerated Pharma, an oncology-focused pharmaceutical project.
Alex Hardy, President of Massachusetts
Alex has over 20 years of experience leading business operations in the foodservice and technology industries including 10 years as president of a Boston-based restaurant chain with locations across the U.S., and four years as COO of a supply chain software company servicing thousands of restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. At Ethos, Alex is responsible for the successful roll out of Ethos operations in New England from construction through continued operations including building a strong team to deliver a knowledgeable and customer centric buying experience for medical and adult-use cannabis users while ensuring business profitability, and strong regional partnerships to help promote the ethical and responsible development of the cannabis industry.
Alex holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance from Babson College.
Mike Bibbey, Vice President, Marketing
Mike has over 20 years of experience in consumer marketing across multiple retail product categories. He most recently led analytics and business operations for Fanatics, a leading manufacturer and retailer of licensed sports products, focusing on consumer behavioral analytics, mobile channel development, and marketing attribution. Mike has also led marketing efforts for retailers of home furnishings and gourmet food gifts with a direct-to-consumer focus.
Mike holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Barbara Rohm Rossa, Director of Design
Barb has spent 30 years working in a variety of design disciplines, creating corporate communications, marketing collateral, and brand identities and systems. Barb has written, produced, and art directed design related content for Better Homes and Gardens publications. Through community-focused nonprofit work Barb has worked in program creation, strategic planning, and donor development. She is part of a team that developed and launched a national program educating teens in the business of philanthropy.
Barb holds a degree in Design with a minor in Journalism from Iowa State University, with additional studies in Art History from Northwestern University.
